A blog on Resource Description & Access (RDA) and latest developments in Library Cataloging Theory & Practice. *http://resourcedescriptionandaccess.blogspot.in/*<http://resourcedescriptionandaccess.blogspot.in/> Excerpt from Wikipedia about RDA: *Resource Description and Access* (*RDA*) is a standard for cataloguing<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cataloguing>that provides instructions and guidelines on formulating data for resource description and discovery. Intended for use by libraries<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libraries>and other cultural organizations such as museums and archives, RDA is the successor to the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-American_Cataloguing_Rules>, Second Edition (AACR2), the current cataloging standard set for English language libraries. RDA was initially released in June 2010. In March 2012, the Library of Congress <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library_of_Congress>announced it will have fully implemented RDA cataloging by March 31, 2013. Several other national libraries including the British Library<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Library>, Library and Archives Canada<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library_and_Archives_Canada>, National Library of Australia<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Library_of_Australia>, and Deutsche Nationalbibliothek<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsche_Nationalbibliothek>also planned to implement RDA in 2013. *Salman Haider* *Librarian (Cataloging)* -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
