How editors were hounded by British colonialists and how Editors were happily ready to go to jails, bear the heavy fines, banning of issues, getting financially destroyed, but never left their ideals and the cause of freedom struggle. Not only Abyuodey and Bhavishya, many other papers like Pratap, Chand, Milap etc. faced all kinds of atrocities at the hands of colonial rulers. On the contrary, Press/media-both print and electronic today has become tool of corporate world with no concern for struggling masses, except for very few honourable exceptions. The discussion shall focus on these aspects of media. About the Editor: Prof. Chaman Lal (born August 27, 1947) is an Indian academic and author.
