Dear friends, GGS Indraprastha University, New Delhi is organizing the Second International Conference on Academic Libraries from February 12 – 15, 2013. http://www.ipu.ac.in/ical2013/index.htm . This indeed is going to be a major international event of special interest and importance to the library and computing professionals in India. It is going to have several leading experts as speakers from the academic and corporate world from India and abroad. In addition to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Indraprastha University as the Conference Chair, this conference has constituted a Vice-Chancellors Advisory Committee. The conference will deliberate on “ACADEMIC LIBRARY SERVICES THROUGH CLOUD COMPUTING” – a topic that is of great importance and relevance to today’s knowledge-driven society. The objective of the Conference is to deliberate on cloud computing solutions for moving libraries to the web for library collaboration at all levels, unlock library potential to share global library collections, and identify strategies for moving to cloud environment. The other areas for discussion and deliberation include new dimensions to academic library services, collaboration in library education, training and research, and policy changes and strategies as required for cloud program implementation. The Conference is planning to have a gathering of about 600 delegates and experts from India and abroad for almost four days from February 12 to 15, 2013 at the GGS Indraprastha University Campus, Delhi and conduct its proceedings through several Plenary, Parallel technical sessions and Tutorials.
