Avery has been produced continuously since 1934. It is currently published by the Getty Research Institute of the J. Paul Getty Trust and the Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York. Editorial offices are at the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library of Columbia University, New York City. Administrative offices are at the Getty Research Institute. Database Content Avery covers subjects related to all geographical areas. It includes not only the scholarly and popular periodical literature, but also the publications of professional associations, American state and regional periodicals, and the major serial publications on architecture and design from Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. The only comprehensive American guide to the current literature of architecture and design, the Avery Index now surveys more than 2,500 journals worldwide. Approximately 40% of the indexed articles are in English; 60% are in languages other than English, including Basque, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish.
