Closing date for IATLIS Conference Papers extended on request till 12 October 2010
Dear All, Through there has been tremendous response for IATLIS Call for conference papers, yet on the repeated request of professional colleagues the last date for receiving the papers has been extended to 12 October 2010. Please note that after this date no request for further extension will be entertained. In fact, the closing date was 07 October 2010, but just to respect the sentiments of our colleagues we have decided to streach ourselves. Please read the call below: IATLIS NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2010 - FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS XXVII National Conference of the IATLIS on “Emerging Challenges and Lingering Issues in LIS Education, Research and Training”, 17-19 November 2010, University of Pune, Pune. Theme: Emerging Challenges and Lingering Issues in LIS Education, Research and Training The theme covers many lingering issues and challenges in LIS Education, research and training (LISERT), but a few facets of the theme are listed below. Role and status of LISERT, particularly in the less developed countries LIS Education – Holistic approach: mandate, manpower planning, levels, accreditation, technological determinism, infrastructure, internship, faculty and students, learning resources. Learning styles and teaching methodologies Open and Distance Learning Privatization and commercialization in LIS education Critical appraisal of LIS research Training issues and concerns for LIS Globalization in LISERT with special reference to developing countries Impact of ICTs on LISERT Cooperation, collaboration partnership in LISERT with special reference to south-south cooperation Papers are invited on the theme “Emerging Challenges and Lingering Issues in LIS Education, Research and Training” and its sub-themes listed above, but not limited to these sub-themes only. These sub-themes are indicative only; papers addressing any other aspect of the theme are also welcome. Last date for sending abstracts: 19 September 2010 Last date for sending full paper: 07 October 2010 *(New closing date on request: 12 October 2010).* Notification of accepted papers: 19 October 2010 Conference Dates: 17 – 19 November 2010 Abstracts and full papers should be sent to the General Secretary, IATLIS, C/o Department of Library and Information Science, Punjabi University, Patiala - 147002 (Punjab). Email: iatlis.patiala@gmail.com The full paper (including abstract and references) should not be more than three thousand words. Please send your paper both in print and as email attachment (in MS-Word 2003). The full paper should include the title, name, address and contact details of author(s), abstract, and keywords. The paper should be prepared using APA Style Manual. Kindly mention “Paper of ___Surname of first author et al__ for IATLIS 2010 Conference” in the subject line while sending paper as email attachment. The authors of accepted papers will be a sent a Copyright Performa to be duly filled in by them. The authors of accepted papers would have to send the filled in copyright form, along with a demand draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS) payable at Patiala. In case you are attending the conference, contributor’s copy will be given to you at the conference.
