Dear All, In the age of e-books and journals almost every Good and Big libraries are paying much attention on purchasing e-books and Journals. My question is with special reference to e-books that: How many libraries paying more attention to maximize the use of e-books after purchasing? What are the methods they are adopting to maximize the Use? Are they cataloging/importing all the e-books data in their OPAC purchased from different publisher and linked directly to e-books? Libraries provide better high speed Internet and computers to access the e-books? Are libraries checking the usages statistics of e-books regularly and taking some action to maximize the use in case, the use of e-books is less? Are they try to understand the cost effectiveness of e-books purchased after investing crores/lakhs of Public money? Is it advisable to stop paying AMC of e-books in case it is not of much use? Dear friends their are several things which could be in you mind regarding e-books, please share your view/problems/solution etc. here with special reference to satisfy first law of library science "BOOKS ARE FOR USE".
