BOOK MISSING-GOVT. ORDERS-REG
Dear Friend, There are existing rules in Government for dealing with missing books from libraries. As per General Financial Rules of Govt. of India, missing of five books out of 1000 books issued/consulted in a year may be taken as reasonable loss from a library which can be written off. Similar rules also exist in Kerala Government., 0.5% of annual issue/reference can be written off in case of loss. But your case is self financing college where Govt. Rules do not apply and the decision of management shall be final. If the management opt for recovering the loss from students, is it good for library staff ???
