Dear All, The UPSC had declared so many posts in which a applicant have the choice to select the given 23 different subjects, except Library and information as their optional subjects for preliminary exam . If Library & information subject is given place in UGC NET examination, then why it is not given a optional subject in UPSC? Dear Anil,
I am also of the same opinion. Why there is no place for LIS subject in UPSC. We all professionals should strongly recommend the authorities to include LIS subject as one of the optional subject, since, this subject has an object to surve the people at large. Therefore every comman man should be familiar with this subject. Therefore, not only in UPSC but on every intellectual platform this subject should get its place.
Thanks

Hello,
Its high time that all the Library Professionals make a joint request to
Govt. authorities
to get a visibility in all the competitive examinations including even the
IAS exam.
The subject is so much close to and related to, social fabric and its value
system.
I have even observed that Library Science does not have representation for
foreign
scholarships, visits, exchange programmes etc. at many levels.
The ones which are offered are captured and get circulated within few
individuals/ circles
I wouuld expect Library Associations to take a lead role. We need to be
united for the cause.
