R. Ranganathan is an internationally recognized centre for advanced training and research in Library and Information Science. The DRTC offers M.S. Programme in Library & Information Science with the primary objective of preparing the next generation information managers. This unique programme offers an ideal blend of courses spanning library science, information technology, knowledge management and quantitative studies. For those with an aptitude for higher studies and research the M.S. programme provides a solid foundation. M.S. in Library and Information Science ======================================= ELIGIBILITY: ------------- 3-year Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Stipend Rs.5000/- per month (Offered at Bangalore). DURATION: ---------- The duration of the programme is 24 months (2 Years); the programme is offered only at the ISI Bangalore Centre. Junior Research Fellowship in Library and Information Science ================================================================= ELIGIBILITY: ------------- A consistent good academic record with high second class in M. S. (LIS) awarded by the Indian Statistical Institute or Associateship in Documentation and Information Science of the Indian Statistical Institute or NISCAIR/INSDOC or its equivalent degree(such as Master's degree in Library and Information Science from any University) with at least 55% marks in undergraduate(BA/B.Sc./B.Com. or its equivalent and also in BLISc if applicable). All eligible students will receive fellowship Rs.25,000/- per month (Offered at Bangalore). Selection Procedure ==================== Selection of candidates is based on merit as judged by their performance in written tests and interview conducted by the Institute. Past academic record may also be taken into consideration. Due consideration is given to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged candidates for above M.S programme.
