The ABILITY Project of the School of Social Sciences (SSS) addresses the issue of academic access of physically challenged, especially the visually impaired, students and researchers. We need an Academic Coordinator, initially for two years. Job Description: Coordinating the publication of an audio journal of humanities and social sciences research; assisting the teachers and librarians involved with the dissertations of the visually impaired; updating the website; convening training sessions in assistive technologies; writing reports and preparing financial grant proposals. Essential Requirements: The applicant should be a postgraduate in Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences/Social Work/Media and Communication Studies/Library and Information Sciences/Architecture/Civil Engineering/Fine Arts/Design, with advanced proficiency in the English language. Desirable: Knowledge of universal design/assistive technologies. Emoluments: Rs. 25000/- (consolidated) per month plus travel allowance. Age limit: 40 years Job Highlights: The opportunity to associate with a pioneering, creative, and socially sensitive project in an institution of higher learning; living in a Kerala small town with occasional travel.
