Dear LIS Professionals, In a feeling of dismay, the way things are going on in our academic circles, especially in the incessant conduct of conferences and seminars and in this context my intension was just bring an improvement in the professional literature generated by our hardworking teachers and practioners. I have been in this profession for the last 4 and a half decades and it becomes my yeomanhood that I uphold the morale of the professionals. So in the moment of consternation of the professional quality I wrote a very strong letter addressed to all professionals through this forum; to our young and senior professionals, and not directing to any single individual. If it has been felt so it is directed to all as an appeal to the entire LIS community including me. In this context if has hurt any of my good friends in the process, I feel very sorry for the same and I once again appeal that it is not directed to any one or more individuals and if it is pointed so in the letter it is only contextual and cannot be taken as personal. The young friends have sought our opinion as a senior professional on the issue, and have given a detailed account of happenings. Since I am not directly concerned with the issue, as I am not involved in the case to evaluate the worthiness of the papers, but I was involved to sit on the judgment. This provoked me to write in detail about the things that are happening and could not be relishing too any serious and senior professional. So my intention is very clear not to hurt and damage the image of any body as I know that they are doing exceedingly well in the profession sometimes better than that I performed. So it is my appeal to forget and forgo the comments and take it as directed to the improvement of the professional scholarship, if they too have a similar intentions.
