Despite arXiv serving the physics (and other) communities rather well for more than 30 years, scientists, especially in India are reluctant to adopt self-archiving in institutional repositories or global archives. LIS professionals can, I believe, play a proactive role in making research in science and scholarship open and at a much a lower cost than through paying APC. With best wishes, Arun
