About the Library Central Library of Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering was founded in 1995 with a small collection of books. Today the library has grown into a system with more than 27,000 volumes of books, 140 national periodicals and 218 e-journals. The College library system caters to the needs of the UG and PG degree courses conducted by the College. The library acquires all the text, reference books and other reading materials prescribed in the syllabus for the courses offered. It is a gift to the faculty pursuing Ph.D. Faculty from nearby colleges are also utilizing the e-journal sections of the Central Library. About SALIS SALIS is a registered professional body, actively involved in the development of all spheres of Library and Information Science (LIS) by organizing various programs such as conferences, seminars, lectures, training programs on emerging topics for the benefit of LIS professionals in the country jointly with reputed institutions. SALIS has chapters at Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Tirunelveli, Vellore, Nagpure and New Delhi to serve the respective regions. SALIS publishes books, journals, news letter to disseminate latest developments in the field, undertakes projects and offer various knowledge based and technology driven services to LIS centres.
