*Dear Professionals,* ** TERI Library and Information Centre is organizing a 3 days Professional Development Program (PDP ) from 2-4th May, 2012. The main objective of this program is *“to bridge the gap between what is preached and what is practiced at the workplace”, so as to; *i) develop core competencies for knowledge enhancement; ii) transform the LIS professionals into an efficient workforce and knowledgeable in developing innovative information skills; and iii) inculcate infopreneurial attitude among the LIS professionals towards sustainability. *Pedagogy* This workshop programme will be mix of presentation, case studies and hands on exercise. The course contents will be developed collaboratively with eminent experts in the field of library and information science to promote continuous improvement of core competency skills of the participants. The faculty will comprise of experts from within TERI as well as from outside. The programme pedagogy will comprise of: · Knowledge management skills · Information marketing and outreach · Communication skills · Infopreneurial skills *Target Participation *The participation in the workshop is primarily through selection nomination only. Each institute can nominate only one candidate. To allow rich and useful interactions, the number of participants will be limited to 25, drawn from all types of libraries. The workshop will be useful for middle to senior-level library and information professionals, knowledge managers, information entrepreneurs, and content developers, who have exhibited proactive interest and taken initiatives to develop innovative knowledge and information based services and products in their organizations*. * * * *Venue & registration *The workshop will take place at TERI, Darbari Seth Block, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi 110003 from 2- 4 May, 2012. The registration for the nominated participants will be free of charge. Each of the participants needs to fill the registration form and a survey beforehand.
