One year training programme for fresh Library Science graduates: Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore invites applications for the position of Trainee in the Library. MMB is part of the worldwide network of the Goethe-Institut Munich and promotes German language and culture abroad. The Library in Bangalore provides comprehensive and up-to-date information about Germany. Selected candidate will be trained in all the processes and systems used in the Goethe- Instituts worldwide including electronic circulation, cataloguing, classification, acquisition policies and procedures, information work, content management system and all other library related procedures. Requirements: Ø Master's degree in Library and Information Science Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ø Competence in using new technology as a research tool Ø Profound knowledge of computer applications Ø Strong commitment to public service Ø Initiative, flexibility, and strong ability to work in a team environment Ø Ability to adapt to an intercultural work environment Successful candidate would be getting a monthly stipend of INR 10000/- and an opportunity to attend the internationally recognised German Language courses free of cost.
