Sorry about it. - Moderator -------------- Sir Dorabji Tata Memorial Library, Tata Institute of Social Sciences is conducting a 21 days UGC Sponsored Refresher Course in the subject of Library & Information Science. The theme is “Information Technology for Librarians”. It is scheduled to be held from 6th to 26th Sept 2004. The objective of this Refresher Course is to make Librarians feel fresh and updated after the training is over and really contribute to the teaching – learning process. The eligibility conditions are mentioned below. Application Form will be sent upon receipt of an e-mail request OR alternatively you can download the application form the library website <www.tiss.edu/library/> or from institute website <www.tiss.edu/ugcrc/> Minimum UGC Requirement for participation in Refresher Courses The Minimum UGC Requirement for participation in Refresher Courses is as follows: Here Librarian means either a College Librarian or a University Assistant Librarian/Lecturer In Library & Information Science who are in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13, 500 and above The gap in two successive Refresher Courses should normally be two years and may be relaxed if the adequate number of participants is not available or it is essential for the Librarian to fulfil eligibility condition for his/her career advancement. The College should be included in the List of Colleges under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, even though they may not yet be fit under Section 12-13 of the same Act. If the College has not yet come within the purview of Section 2(f) but have been affiliated to a University for at least five years may also participate in the Refresher Course. The last date for submission of applications is 16th August 2004.
