Dear Sushant, Thanks for your mail inviting the attention of library managers towards the newly introduced GST. As per the GST, the printed books are exempted from the tax. However, there are some anomalies with regard to the children's picture books and other categories of books (including the e-books). The Federation of Educational Publishers in India (FEPI) is trying to persuade the government to keep all types of books away from the GST. Let us hope for the best.
