His new appointment as Founder VC of Reva University at Bangalore is another feather in his crown. I have seen him for the last 36 years or so as humble librarian initially at BEL later at Mangalore University, then as Professor of Library Science, Director of UGC Academic Staff College, Registrar and four years back as VC at University of Mysore. I had an opportunity of working closely under his guidance as Visiting Professor and Library Adviser at UoM. During his regime as VC the university bagged highest number of projects fetching more than 200 Crores, resulting in enviable infrastructure in terms of buildings, instrumentation, IT, etc. Library, which was in its lowest web got rejuvenated to be one of the best of its kind in the country. A number of new courses were started, both academic and career oriented. For the last 8 years or so he would have slept not more than fours a day as he used sit upon the job seriously irrespective of time and his tiredness. His seriousness and hardworking nature suits much more in private sector. Probably the present assignment private university is a God given reward for his hard work.
