More details available at conference Website http://www.icim2005.org/ Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC) was established in 1955 as a non-profit national organization to promote quality in the profession through improvement in technical efficiency and act as a nodal point for information in scientific and other related fields. A democratically structured organization IASLIC has been in the forefront for training of librarians, documentation work, promotion of cooperation amongst the libraries and information centres. It is therefore natural for IASLIC to organize this event when the profession is in transition from managing data and information to knowledge. Objectives The objective of the conference is to juxtapose knowledge construction and development through various information management processes and then associated technologies. The conference will provide a platform for bringing to the fore local and global initiatives in this area encompassing research as well as practical applications. This interaction is expected to create understanding of the needs of the various players in the creation of knowledge.
