Dear Colleagues, I am pleased to inform you all that now JNU Library catalogue is available online through WebOPAC from JNU Library website. The URL is given below: http://www.jnu.ac.in/Library/default.htm Apart from books, over 7.5 lacs news clippings are also part of JNU Catalogue. The process of cataloging of over 1 lac foreign languages books and 1.1 lacs bound volumes besides about 1 lac other publications is also in process. The digitization of 8000 theses will start soon followed by digitization over10000 microfilm rolls, and 3000 rare books. Digitization of over 7.5 lacs news clipping has been done. During the summer vacation reorganization of entire library has been taken up. The work involves regrouping of various subject collections, preparation of list for write off for old/damaged books and review of collections to identify the obsolete books. The help from subject experts have also been taken up. Redesigning of library portal, training programme for library staff in fulfilling the needs of visually impaired students, monthly lecture series, author workshops for faculty & Students,  remote server to access e-resources, renovation of library space and procurement of new library furniture are some of the task to provide better services to the users of JNU Library. This semester onwards the submission of e-theses has been made compulsory for all Mphil and Ph.D scholars. Installation of Fire fighting system and CCTV is also in the process. The JNU is one of the best University in the world and our mission is to setup a world class library at JNU. I am sure with the help of excellent library team at JNU, we are going to achieve all set objectives.
