Dear Professionals, The INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar is organizing a National Workshop on Creation and Management of Digital Collections from 10th to 14th February, 2014. *Objectives *: To create awareness in new developments in the field of Library and Information Science like managing information sources in a digital environment, building institutional repository, networking and social media, management of e-resources, latest in development and trends in LIS with glimpse on Library Automation along with hands-on-training. *Areas Covered* The following areas will be covered in the workshop and hands on practical training will be given in these areas: - Digitization and Digital Preservation - Working with Linux : Basic commands. - Institutional Repositories and Digital Libraries - Metadata Standards for Digital Collection - Digital collection building using DSpace: Installation & Configuration - Digital collection building using DSpace:Administration & Customization - Digital collection building using DSpace: Workflow & Submissions - IPR and Security aspects of IR - Web 2.0 and Social Networking - Library Automation and latest trends in ICT - Access to e-resources subscribed under different consortium *Target Participants* Library and Information professionals, System and Network Administrators, Information Scientists and others with similar responsibilities with exposure to network and information security.
