IFLA World to Library, Archive and Information Science Associations

To All,
In cooperation with IFLA, the publisher De Gruyter Saur is currently
updating the "World Guide to Library, Archive and Information Science
Associations". The new 3rd edition is scheduled for publication in June
2010. Non-profit associations concerned with the fields of librarianship,
documentation, information science and archives, operating on an
international or national level will be included free of charge.
We would like to ask for your help in providing a new up-to-date reference
tool for networking within the LIS field.
Over the next months, detailed questionnaires will be mailed to all
associations world-wide. On our website under
http://www.ifla.org/en/publications/wgla you will find an overview of the
information as it was published in the previous edition. In the preparation
of the questionnaires we have created control sheets for each country which
are meant to be annotated and returned to the editors. We are looking for
any feedback indicating what is missing or outdated in the control sheets.
We are particularly interested for the contact details of associations which
are unlisted in order for them to receive our detailed questionnaire.
There is also a template questionnaire for those associations – listed or
unlisted so far – wishing to submit their information details immediately.
Please spread the news regarding our survey to all the relevant experts whom
you consider suitable. You can also send your feedback by e-mail directly to
Alexandra Meinhold who is in charge of the survey at De Gruyter Saur: *
