amendments to A P Public Library Act 1960
DEAR FRIENDS TELANGANA has emerged as 29th State of India. On 9 th August 2014, New State level Association namely TELANGANA LIBRARY ASSOCIATION HAS been formed. This new Association would like to take up the activities relating to -- for development and strengthening of libraries and -- For strengthening and training of professionals in skill development as well as provide continuing education programs. Further. the Govt of Telangana will look for many changes including the acts. Automatically. the AP acts will come into force in this new state also. we found lot of lapses and gaps in the present Act. This Act need to be strengthened. The new state will not only change the name as Telangana Public Library Act But also some provisions that are capable of reviving the library development. In this connection, the newly formed TSLA want to take initiation and seek the advice and comments from all professionals. TSLA would like to collect the details and conduct a one day workshop and based on the recommendations of the workshop, we will present the same to Government of Telangana for their consideration.
