Prasad Executive Officer Sarada Ranganathan Endowment for Library Science ****** *Categories, Relations and Contexts in Knowledge Organization* *University of Mysore, 6-9 August 2012* * * * * 12th International ISKO Conference The International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO) will hold its 12 th Biennial International Conference (ISKO 2012) in the University of Mysore, Mysore, India from 6th - 9th August 2012. The University of Mysore will play host to this international event. The conference will be jointly organized by the ISKO (India Chapter), the Sarada Ranganathan Endowment for Library Science and the University of Mysore. The conference has been co-sponsored by DRDO, Government of India, The PES Institute of Technology (Bangalore), Ranganathan Centre for Information Studies (Chennai), the Society for Information Science (Bangalore Chapter) and the University of Madras Department of Library & Information science. ISKO is an international professional body that holds biennial international conferences in different parts of the world. The last two conferences were hosted respectively by the University of Montreal (Canada) in 2008 and by the Sapienza University, Rome, Italy in 2010. This is only the 2nd time that the ISKO has decided to have its Biennial International Conference in India. The proposed conference will bring together disparate groups from Information sciences, Computer Sciences, Library Sciences, Philosophy and Linguistics on a single platform to discuss issues of contemporary interest in Knowledge Representation and Organization.
