Respected Members', Central Govt. has prepared the Draft of the Bill to establish Central Universities in the 16 states for the development of Higher Education in the country. According to sources of M/o HRD, the Ministry has prepared the draft of the bill to establish Central Univ. in 16 states.This draft has been sent to concerned Ministries for discussion so that final draft of the bill can be prepared. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Sigh, M/o HRD Shri Arjun Singh, Planning Commission Deputy-Chairperson Shri Montek Sigh Ahluwalia & University Grants Commission have decided to establish Central Univ. in 16 States & Colleges in 355 Districts of our country in a meeting held in June. Sources said that these Central Universities will be open in Bihar, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka etc.Our Prime Minister has announced to establish a Central University in the last visit to Jammu & Kashmir.15 % students will be given Higher Education in the 11th Five Year Plan.Around Five Thousand Crore Rupees are expected on the establishment of these Central Universities.
