Dear All Professional Colleagues   Heartiestcongratulations to Prof. Amitabha Chatterjee, Former Professor, Department ofLibrary and Information Science, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, on beingconferred upon IATLIS-Prof. Jagindar Singh Ramdev Lifetime Achievement Award-2013 by IATLIS on 27 November 2013 at the inaugural function of XXX IATLISNational Conference, 2014 held at Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala.Prof. Amitabha Chatterjee, is a well known name in the sphereof LIS education in the country. He has taught the subject for over 40 years atbachelor’s degree level and over 35 years at master’s degree level in differentuniversities of West Bengal. He retired as Professor and Head of the Departmentof Library & Information Science, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He servedas one of the member of the Curriculum Development Committee (CDC) in LIS, setup by the University Grant Commission, the report of which was published in2001. He served as a member of the Research Council of erstwhile INSDOC (nowNISCAIR), New Delhi, and a member of the Board of Studies and Board of Researchin LIS in several Universities. He has been honoured with IATLIS-Motiwale Best LISTeacher Award in 2001 by Indian Association of Teachers in Library & InformationScience. He has also been nominated by Indian Association of Special Libraries& Information Centres (IASLIC) for Prof. Prabir Roychoudhury and Smt. AmitaRoychoudhury Best LIS Teacher Award, 2011. Prof. Chatterjee has served as amember of the Editorial Board of ILA Bulletin (1988-89), and Annals of Libraryand information Studies (1998-2004, 2007-) and edited 6 journals, includingIndian Library Science Abstracts and Librarian and 27 conference volumes.
