Pilgrimage places like Pandharpur(55 kms), Guddapur (40 kms), Inchageri Math are the nearby attractions. *Shree Sangameshwar Shikshan Samstha:* The samstha is one of the pioneer educational institutions in North Karnataka. It was established in the year 1951 by selfless and dedicated persons with the vision and foresight to impart quality education to the economically disadvantaged and rural youth. Presently imparting quality and value based education from KG to PG (M.Com) level to illumine the darkness among the lives of the rural poor. The founder Late. Now the college is running BA, B.COM, BCA and BSW and M.Com Programmes and is proposed to start MSW Course from the academic year 2015-16. *About the Library* The college library was started along with the college in 1973 with 500 books and15 periodicals with a qualified librarian. At present there are 28,000 books and 50 journals and periodicals are available to access by teachers and students. The library has a separate building for providing easy access library resources to the students and staff. In addition to books and journals, college has subscribed INFLIBNET N-LIST (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure of Scholarly Content) e-resources for the use of academic and research activities. The entire faculty and students including alumni of the college are beneficiaries of the INFLIBNET service. *Seminar Theme:* The basic goals of libraries have always been to provide access to information to those who need it. The activities realizing this goal have evolved and transformed over the years. This includes available technology and need of an evolving information society. Information activities have been guided by the developments the field of storages. Presentation and archiving of knowledge, collection, development and organization of knowledge, information explosion and in information dissemination to the users at the right time.
