I saw the posting on Lis-Forum about Dr Tapaswi's superannuation. I have known Tapaswi since his DRTC days and later more intimately at NIO. He is one of the rare breeds in the Library and Information profession. He combines in himself unique combination of qualities: of leadership, professional competency, willingness to keep on learning, the fearlessness to experiment, and the wherewithal to build strong relationships with the users of his library and its services. Like all of us, products of time and space, one has to lay down one's office. I am sure NIO library staff and the scientists will miss him and his dynamism. I would like to convey my best wishes for days after his superannuation. If I know him well, then I do believe he will continue to make a contribution to whatever cause he chooses.
