Workshop Report: Personality Development Workshop at Visva-Bharati Central University
Dear Library professionals, A Three-day Intensive Workshop on *Personality Development and Communication Skill* was organised in Central Library, Visva-Bharati Central University during 23 - 25 July 2015, jointly with IASLIC, Kolkata for the benefit of the staff of the Visva-Bharati Library Network. The workshop was attended by 29 participants. A repeat programme will be held in September for the remainder employees of the Network. The workshop, conducted in 11 technical sessions over three days, aimed at developing Personality, Self Management Practices, Oral Communication, Written Communication, Presentation Skill and Listening Skill. The main thread of the workshop was development of the information professionals in an other - than technical dimension like team work, leadership, motivation, goal setting etc. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Swapan Kumar Datta, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Visva-Bharati (after lighting of the lamp) wherein he spoke of offering prompt and courteous service to the users. Dr. V. K. Thomas, University Librarian welcomed the gathering. Prof. S. B. Banerjee, Vice-President, IASLIC, Prof. K. P. Majumder, Convener, Education Division, IASLIC and Dr J. N. Satpathi, former President, IASLIC spoke on the importance of and various components of the workshop. Dr. D. Gunasekaran, Registrar, Visva-Bharati distributed the certificates.
