This is pertinent question raised by Mr. Jena and it is very serious issue for deliberation in LIS community. Since last few years, the pay scales and designations of library professionals are downgraded by authorities in various organisation arbitrarily. This not only the case of SPA, Vijaywada, but also happened in many organisations like Election Commission in India, IIT Mumbai, IIT Indore etc. Here we are blaming to the authorities, but why not for senior LIS professional who went in SPA Vijaywada for taking interview as an Expert. Why they made this interview NFS? They should have pressurised the Director, SPA for not abolishing this post. In govt. institutions creating a post is very cumbersome job and once the post is created these Experts never raised the voice against abolition.
