The conference is being organized to commemorate two important events Platinum Jubilee of India’s Independence and also Celebrating the 60 years of DRTC and Father of Library Science Dr S.R.Ranganathan. Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), a unique institution devoted to the research, teaching and application of statistics, natural sciences and social sciences, founded by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis. Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC) was established in January 1962 as a division of the Indian Statistical Institute.
