Standard Operating Procedure
Dear Deepak Sir Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documents or methods that describe how particular functions of the library are carried out. The uses of SOPs are to make convenient to get the information from the library. In India many academic library follow the ISO process for that. I don’t know how many library follow the SOPs in India but Foreign Countries are using SOPs to provide a better service to the user. As I done the Internal Auditor Training I have idea about the SOPs. You not need to ask any one. You can design your own SOPs in different sections in library. Make the certain rules, functions and follow accordingly. For that you have to manage the certain documentation process file, etc. You can set the SOPs in different areas of a Library: · Administrating the Library Budget · Collection Development · Institutional Repository · Different Sections · Different Services We can discuss further on this topic.
