2-day Conference on “Information Transformation and Informatics in the Digital Era: Opportunities and Challenges” during 12-13 March 2020

Dear LIS-Forum Members, It is with great pleasure we invite interested LIS-Forum members to the 2-day Conference on “Information Transformation and Informatics in the Digital Era: Opportunities and Challenges” during 12-13 March 2020 at NAAS, NASC Complex, New Delhi. The Conference, jointly organized by CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (CSIR-NISCAIR) and CSIR-Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (CSIR-TKDL) Unit and will focus on technologies and tools for S&T Information Transformation, and the effective approaches for targeted consumption of such information. The sessions planned for the 2 days include (i) Information: Organization, Systems and Retrieval; (ii) Specialized Online Databases; (iii) Data Visualization & Infographics and (iv) Artificial Intelligence. We have invited speakers, from across the country, from both public and private sector, for these four sessions. In addition, Panel Discussions are proposed for both days. The topic for the first day is "Digital Information Landscape: Opportunities and Challenges"; and for the second day it is "Information Transformation: The Path Ahead". This would be followed by a Valedictory Address. It also gives us great pleasure to inform you that Dr. Shekhar Mande, DG, CSIR and Secretary, DSIR has kindly consented to inaugurate the Conference. We are also honoured to have Mr. Anbumanee Ponnaiah, Executive Architect & Distinguished IT Specialist and CTO, RTSC, IBM Sterling Expert Labs as the Guest of Honour. The Conference will have eminent speakers and panelists from both private and public sector organizations such as MIT School of Vedic Sciences, National Biodiversity Authority, Vigyan Prasar, Trans Disciplinary University, INFLIBNET, National Informatics Centre, Clarivate Analytics, TCS, Evalueserve, Google India, among others.
