Soon after the devastating Tsunami on December 26, 2004, four disaster
experts from Iran, Russia and the United States developed a Supercourse
Just-in-Time lecture on Tsunamis, found at
<http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/lecture/lec18071/index.htm.
The authors are now providing a second lecture "Earthquake & Tsunami South
Asia, 26 Dec 2004."
<
The mission of the Supercourse is to translate the best possible scholarly
information from leading researchers to educators. The Supercourse
represents a global scientific effort of over 20,000 scholars to improve
sharing of scientific information from research to the classroom.
After the original announcement was sent out, it was estimated that in the
5 days between Jan. 4 - Jan. 9, 2005, about 255,000 people heard about and
saw the Tsunami Powerpoint lecture. These lectures are a gift that is
meant to be freely distributed. Please pass this message on to other
libraries, educators and interested people across the world.
