Dear Friends, This is my personal experience during conversation with professionals regarding library automation and data migration. Many of us are struggling with data migration and consider this as a big challenge. Friends, I wish to convince you that data migration is not as difficult as we are making it. It is very simple process except few cases where we are not having the provision of exporting data in excel or Marc. Whatever system you are working, it does not matter. If you wish to switch over to any other ILMS then only you have to pull your data either in excel or Marc format or ISO format (if possible) then purify your data and make it compatible with your chosen software. Here are few videos which may help you to understand the process of data migration. Please have a blank data sheet with few data in it and practice 2-3 times and you will become master in it.
