Sri S Parthasarathi -- The most loved LIS professional is no more
The Grand Old Man of Library Sciences by far the best seen in India in the last century Sri S Parthasarathi of Triplicane Chennai, aged 104 years attained his Acharyan Thiruvadi at Hydrabad this morning. Even at a 100++ age he would travel by MTS-Bus and train. He has been a role model to many LIS Professional and IT Professionals like me. He used to keep himself updated with all developments and share with his contacts. He is an excellent motivator and used to encourage people. He has supported and reviewed many library, indexing, special publication initiatives in which I was involved at The Hindu. I miss him very badly. I pray HIS ALMIGHTY to shower HIS blessings on the departed soul to rest in peace.
