Dear All My heart-felt congratulations to Dr. Arun Kumar Chakraborty who took over the charge of Director-General, Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation (RRRLF) under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India on 16.12.2014. Dr. Chakraborty has an excellent professional career and served the famous Bose Institute, Kolkata as Librarian from July 2000 to December 2014. He implemented a series of user-centric library services and initiated the first ever open source software based server cluster (fusing Koha, DSpace, and Joomla in an interactive software platform) in the Bose Institute, Kolkata way back in 2010. Alongside the professional duties, Dr. Chakborty is also enthusiastically engaged in professional development activities. He served the IASLIC as General Secretary from 2007 to 2010, worked as Standing Committee Member of Genealogy and Local History Section of IFLA and visited NIH Bethesda, Maryland, USA as Fulbright Scholar during 2005-2006. Despite his extremely busy schedule for the last ten years, Dr. Chakraborty sincerely served almost all Library schools in West Bengal in the capacity of guest lecturer, visiting faculty, resource person and keynote speaker.
