Dear All, This is to inform you that the venue for the National Seminar on Electronic Publications organized by Mahatma Gandhi National Institute of Research and Social Action (MGNIRSA), Hyderabad is: JNTU Conference Hall, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kukatpally, HYDERABAD - 500 072. How to reach the Venue? FROM AIRPORT: If you are travelling by air, you will arrive at the Rajiv Gandhi airport, Begumpet. The airport is centrally located, being within easy reach of both Hyderabad and Secunderabad. At the airport, you can hire prepaid taxis, private cars or auto-rickshaws (there are no 4-wheeler taxis in Hyderabad). FROM RAILWAY STATIONS AND BUS STATIONS: If you are traveling by train, you will alight at one of the following railway stations: Secunderabad, Hyderabad (at Nampally), Begumpet or Kachiguda. If you arrive by long distance bus, you will alight at the Jubilee Bus Station, Secunderabad, or at the Hyderabad Bus Terminal at Gowliguda. Buses are actually pretty flexible, and stop at quite a few places along the way. PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The State Transport Corporation (APSRTC) buses are inexpensive. But, this is not the best option if you have a large amount of luggage on you, of course. There are two types of city bus services; ordinary Road Transport Corporation buses and the Metro Liners, operated by the APSRTC between 0500-2300 daily. RTC buses are crowded during rush hour. Metro Liners are comfortable but seats are limited. Metro Liners arent available everywhere, so its a good idea to check the route chart before you set out to see if there is service available. Buses you can take to reach JNTU Campus: From Secunderabad: 10K, 226 From Nampally: 225 From Kachiguda: 83K From Jubilee Bus Station: 226 There are many more buses going to Kukatpally from these points. You can enquire at the Enquiry counters available at the Bus stations. Telephone No.s of Bus Stations: Secunderabad : 23443399 Nampally : 23435162 Kachiguda : 27568624 Jubilee Bus Station: 27802203 Imlibun Bus Station: 24614406 LOCAL TRANSPORT: The auto rickshaws are metered, so make sure that the meter is showing the minimum fare (Rs. 10 now) when you get in, and that he's set the meter after you've engaged him. Pay what the meter shows when you get off, but if the minimum fare in the meter is still being shown as Rs. 8, the driver has to produce a card to show the actual amount. You will have to pay one and a half return amount if you are hiring an auto rickshaw between 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Taxis are not widely used in Hyderabad although prepaid taxis are available at the airport, Secunderabad and Nampally railway stations. These are generally expensive.
