NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON PERSPECTIVES ON METRICS BASED RESEARCH EVALUATION March 10 -12, 2014 Scope The symposium is an attempt to bring together research scholars, faculty and information professionals etc to deliberate upon concept, issues and challenges related to research assessment, evaluation, use and impact based on various metrics and standards to help academic, research and administrative community to explore better ways to lead to high ended research in a more transparent and objective way by attracting best platforms and channels for growth and to harvest rich dividends etc. Main Topics: •Research output: Growth ,Development ,Performance indicators (Impact Factor; normalized IF; H-Index; i- 10 Index; g- 10, etc) •Scientometrics: Tools; science communication and policy. •Web analytical tools: Metrics; links; ranking etc. •Publication Ethics and Plagiarism: Concept and detection tools; predatory publications. •Licensing Models: Open access journals vs. licensed journals Special Features: A.Tutorials Tutorial 1st: Standard Indicators (Impact factor; H-index etc) concept, tools and trends Tutorial 2nd: Plagiarism and software for its Detection Tutorial 3rd: Citation indexes and ranking; B.Publication Authors of accepted abstracts will submit the finalized draft of their research papers after March 13, 2014. The paper after peer review and editorial assistance will be published in the departmental journal - “Trends in Information Management (TRIM)” ISSN: 0973-4163. TRIM is available online at: http://ojs.uok.edu.in/ojs/index.php/crdr/index TRIM is a peer-reviewed and indexed in well renowned databases of USA (EBSCO). It is freely available via Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Sweden Paper Submission Instructions oPaper should be submitted in MS Word (2000) format and limited up to 8000 words. Papers submitted in other formats will not be entertained. oUse A4 size paper (210 mm by 297 mm) with 1 inch margin each from Top, Bottom, Left and Right sides. oProvide Tile in Calibri font, bold, 14 point. Author(s) name(s), affiliation(s) and email IDs should be in Calibri font, 10 points and should immediately proceed the Title. oUse Calibri font, 12 points, for the main text in single column. oPictures should be sent in Jpeg format. oFor citation and references, APA style (6th edition) should be rigorously followed.
