The Quiz will cover the Information and Communication Technology history and trends. Who can participate: College level students and professional can participate in the Quiz in teams consisting of TWO persons. While one need not be a member of IEEE to participate, concessional registration fee is applicable if you are a member of IEEE. Pattern of the Quiz: The Quiz will be conducted in three stages. PRELIMS, Regional ORALS and FINALS, The PRELIMS will be held ONLINE to shortlist teams to participate in the Regional ORALS to be held at different regional centers. The shortlisted teams will participate in the Regional ORALS event at the designated/opted centre. The Regional ORALS is being planned to be held in six regional centres. While the tentative regional centres will be at Chennai, Tiruchengode, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Madurai, and Trichy, the final regional centres will depend on the registrations.. If any centre/s is/are dropped, the participants will be required to come to the centres allotted to them for the Regional ORALS. The team coming first in each of the six centres in the Regional ORALS will participate in the FINALS which will be held at Chennai. The team members selected for FINALS will be reimbursed travel expenses to the extent of bus fare / 2nd class train fare by shortest route from their city to Chennai. Prizes: The top three teams from each Regional ORALS conducted at different centres will get cash prizes of Rs. 2500/- , Rs. 1500/- and Rs. 1000/- and the remaining three teams will get Rs. 500/- each as consolation prize at the end of the Regional ORALS at the respective center. The top three teams of the FINALS will get cash prizes of Rs. 10000/- Rs. 6000/- and Rs. 4000/- and the remaining three teams will get Rs. 1000/- each as consolation prize. We are also exploring the possibility of providing additional prizes in the form of books / free membership in IEEE CS / PCS. Certificates: All the participants taking the PRELIMS will be given participation certificate.. The winners & runners of the Regional ORALS and FINALS will get certificate of appreciation along with the cash prizes mentioned above. Tentative Dates: The online PRELIMS are planned in Sep 2016. The Regional ORALS at various regional centers are planned in Oct 2016. The FINALS at Chennai will be in Oct/Nov 2016 along with IEEE MAS Student Branch OBs Meet cum Entrepreneurship Summit.
