The W3C provides every internet citizen with access to an abundance of information, but it becomes increasingly difficult to identify the relevant pieces of information. To be able to cope with the abundance of available information, users of the Web need assistance of intelligent agents for finding, sorting, and filtering the available information. The database research community and others have stated The Information Utility makes it easy for everyone to store, organize, access, and analyze the majority of human information. Web mining tries to address this problem by applying techniques from data mining and machine learning to Web data and documents. The attention paid to web mining, in research, software industry, and web- based organization, has led to the accumulation of significant experience. This colloquium will address the issues of web mining, taxonomy, the various algorithms used in different research fields, its use and future applications. TOPICS SPEAKERS 1.
