The Lens is available as an open platform at https://www.lens.org/ The Lens was developed and continues to be maintained through philanthropic support. The Lens provides discovery, analytics and research management tools on top of a comprehensive collection of scholarly literature metadata and patent literature linked through a citation index. Uniquely, The Lens provides this corpus of scholarly literature metadata and patent information on an open, verifiable, and privacy assured platform. The following is a brief overview about the platform. Four core Lens “Apps” focus on specific content sets: - *Scholarly Works* <https://www.lens.org/lens/search/scholar/structured>: Discovery and analytics tools access a corpus of scholarly literature metadata with citation indexing. *(220M records)* - *Patents* <https://www.lens.org/lens/search/patent/structured>: Discovery and analytics tools on a comprehensive collection of patent literature with citation indexing. *(125M records)* - *PatCite* <https://www.lens.org/lens/patcite>: Analytics tool to mine citations in global patent literature to explore relationships between patents and scholarly literature to support decisions regarding research, funding, tech transfer and relationships with commercial entities. *(3.7M In patent and 1.3B Scholarly Citations)* - *PatSeq* <https://www.lens.org/lens/bio>: Search and analyze biological sequences disclosed in patent literature. *(300M Records)* In addition to the four Lens Apps, The Lens provides metrics and data management tools: - *In4M* <https://www.lens.org/lens/in4m/rankings/global/locations>: Analysis capabilities and open metrics are also provided to enable influence mapping of institutions on industry and innovation. - *Collections* <https://www.lens.org/lens/user/collections>: Registered users can curate their own collections of records and data visualizations and share those privately or publicly. - *Lens Reports* <https://www.lens.org/lens/reports>: Still in Alpha, Lens Reports is a new facility for creating evidence-based, open, sharable and reusable reports *linked to real Lens data and analytics. * The Lens is highly aligned to your values about inclusivity and openness with scholarly communication.
