+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ First Alumni Meet Department of Library and Information Science Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi 6th November 2017 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dear Friends, The Department of Library and Information Science, Banaras Hindu University is happy to announce First Alumni Meet on 6th November 2017 at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The Alumni meet is organised to provide a platform for the alumni to come together, discuss, interact and share their views and experiences. The Alumni are considered to be best ambassadors of their alma mater which is Banaras Hindu University. The alumni carry with them the values, culture, and traditions of their parent organisation. The alumni meet aims to foster a sense of community among alumni while supporting a sense of connectedness back to the institution feeling i.e. BHU. Alumni meet will help new professionals or visit with people they have met before, to establish or renew friendships and acquaintances. The LIS professionals can exchange information about their work, experiences and help each other with networking needs such as hiring, referrals for specific expertise, or looking for a new job. The young students can meet with alumni of the Department. This allows them to meet others who share the institutional connection and to start their academic career with new social connections. ++++++++++++++++++++ Aims and Objectives ++++++++++++++++++++ The specific objective of the alumni meet are: 1. To act as a bridge between professionals for interaction on new developments in different areas of LIS education. 2. To promote and foster interaction amongst the Alumni and the faculty members of the Department of Library & Information Science, Banaras Hindu University. 3. To associate the Alumni in the developmental activities of the Department of Library & Information Science, Banaras Hindu University. 4. To institute and organize scholarships and funds to help the needy and deserving students of Library & Information Science, BHU. 5. To institute prizes and awards for outstanding project works, research papers or other professional activities by the teachers, alumni & the students of the Department and to suitably recognize outstanding social and community services rendered by them. 6.
