Dear Das Sir, I would like to associate myself for lamenting the sad demise of Prof. Thakur. Please convey my profound grief to all his professional colleagues and family members. He was indeed a noble person with lot of dedication toward LIS profession. The department of library science, Patna University is greatly indebted to him for infusing life into it and getting recognition for it far and wide. As a student, I have been greatly benefited by his erudition, the workaholic approach and above all a humble nature. With great pains this is to inform all my library professional & colleague that Prof. Ugra Mohan Thakur, our beloved teacher of Department of Library and Information Science, University of Patna and Coordinator(LIS), Nalanda Open University passed away on 16th January 2016. It will be great loss to the whole Library & Information Sc. Community as well as academic community. Let all of us pray that his departed Soul may rest in peace. Let us also communicate our sympathy to the bereaved family members.
