LIS Academy & Raman Research Institute Invites LIS Experts, peers and educationists for in-depth discussion on Libraries and Librarians in context of New Education Policy – 2019 (NEP – 2019) Venue: Auditorium, Raman Research Institution Date: 20-07-2019, 11 AM to 5 PM Dear Professional Friends, As posted earlier on this forum, LIS Academy in collaboration with RRI Library is organizing a Consultative meeting of LIS Experts, peers and leading educationists to suggest the inclusion of roles and responsibilities of Library and information centres in the Draft NEP – 2019 at Raman Research Institute, Bangalore. The expectation of various professionals including academicians and researchers is very high on this National Education Policy – 2019, under MHRD. The volume runs to about 477 pages but the librarians input to this report requires more and serious attention. If librarians neglect at this stage, sufferers are our young and future professionals. Many professionals requested LIS Academy to take up this task seriously as majority of the senior LIS professionals are raising various issues in an informal discussion. LIS Academy also invites other professional’s association and scholarly bodies in LIS to join hands for the serious attempt in this progressive step. LIS Academy also trying to bring-in all the LIS pioneers / experts and eminent educationists on a common platform and submit to MHRD for inclusion in new Draft NEP-2019 Hence it is appealed to all the LIS Professionals to join their hands with LIS Academy in preparing the memorandum to be submitted to MHRD.
