Sri. N.V. Sathyanarayana sir has brought to the notice of LIS professionals an important issue that the National Education Policy (Draft) 2019 has not been adequately addressed. NEP 2019 should consider 'library' as an important and critical educational infrastructure. The Professional Associations should actively engage in preparing library national document as suggested by N.V. Sathyanarayana sir and submit the same to NEP committee to make necessary changes.  The Karnataka State Education Policy (KSEP) 2016 prepared and submitted by Karnataka Knowledge Commission was also not vocal much about libraries except few references here and there to establish libraries in residential schools and universities and provide funds to maintain them. It so happened that both the NEP(Draft) 2019 and KSEP 2016 was prepared under the chairmanship of Dr. Kasturirangan.   ------------------------- With best wishes Vasantha Raju N.LibrarianMysore
