Dear Library Professionals,   Earlier we are suppose to install separately Ubuntu, and select the LAMP( Apache, mysql, perl, php  and other supporting software  to install KOHA which was a tedious process. Now, Dr. Krishnamurthy, Associate Professor-DRTC has done a wonderful job by compiling all the software in one DVD making KOHA-Live DVD by which installation of KOHA completes in a single step.   LIS professionals need such types of practical oriented tools which help/encourage us to automate the Library by using Open Source Software and become self-reliant.   Thanks to Prof. M.Krishnamurthy for his effort.  At this time, I would like to mention one more thing that since 4-5 years, he is practically helping more than 150 Engineering and First Grade Colleges in installing DSpace- a Free Institutional Repository Software and thus promoting the use of Open Source Software.
