The new requirements are based on IEEE Xplore usage statistics that indicate the most highly used browsers and browser compatibility with required elements of the new design. IEEE Xplore may not function if the requirements identified below are not followed. BASIC REQUIREMENTS - Internet browser - Connection to an Internet Service Provider - For best dial-up performance, a 56.6 or higher modem is recommended - AdobeĀ® Acrobat Reader 5.X or higher - Direct parallel or LAN-attached printer with at least 300 dpi resolution - Compatible mouse PLATFORM AND BROWSER REQUIREMENTS > WINDOWS - Internet Explorer 5.X or higher - Netscape 7.X or higher - Opera 7.23 - Mozilla Firebird > MAC - Internet Explorer 5.2.3 - Netscape 7.1 > UNIX - Internet Explorer 5.X or higher - Netscape 7.X or higher OTHER REQUIREMENTS The following options must be enabled within the browser: - Cookies - JavaScript - CSS styles IEEE Xplore powers online subscriptions for IEEE members, as well as institutional online collections like the IEEE/IEE Electronic Library (IEL). The interface also enables access to more than 1,000,000 free technical-paper abstracts, as well as individual article purchases online.
