Dear Friends, Please find the updated Presentation Outline http://library.iitrpr.ac.in/workshop/program.html# of the RDM workshop going to be held on November 04, 2019 at IIT Ropar . The registration date has been extended until October 30, 2019. For registration, accomodation and other details, please visit the workshop website http://library.iitrpr.ac.in/workshop/index.html. Presentation Outline: 1. FAIR Data as a Scholarly Resource: This section introduces learners to four concepts: i. research data; ii. research data cultures of practice; iii. data as scholarly resources; and iv. FAIR data principles. Person/Time: Ceilyn/30 min. 2. Research Data Management & the RDM Life Cycle: This section introduces learners to six concepts: i. Research data management; ii. the RDM lifecycle; iii. RDM stakeholders; iv. research data curation; v. research data repository; and vi. library data services. Person/Time: Ceilyn/30 min 3. RDM at Harvard Library: This section builds upon the previous section to describe how research data management services are implemented across the Harvard Library. Topics include service architecture, service partners, and an example of a data curation service collaboration between IQSS/Dataverse and Harvard Library departments. Person/Time: Ceilyn/30 min 4. The Dataverse Project and Infrastructure at Harvard: What is The Dataverse Project Person/Time:: Sonia/10 min 5. Installation Requirement and repository management: This section will cover the minimum requirements needed to support a Dataverse Installation: Software, developers, data management team, data curation team, sustainability, the audience, Dataverse consortium Person/Time:: Sonia/20 min 6. What can you do with a Dataverse Repository installation; Data Curation, metadata management: Your research data should be stored in a platform that allows preservation, security, and access while meeting data sharing standards. How does a Dataverse repository support this? How to manage and curate your research data in a Dataverse Repository. Person/Time:: Sonia/60 min 7. FAIR Data Principles in Dataverse: FAIR data standards define the accepted protocol for data sharing. Repositories around the world strive to meet these standards. Person/Time: Sonia/30 min 8. Hands-on training on Dataverse: Sample Repository on dataverse - Create your dataverse account and begin the process of creating your personal “dataverse” space to support your research projects. This training will highlight: creating your repository space (dataverse); describe your research project using rich metadata; uploading files in any format; making use of tabular data functionality; open vs restricted content; supplementary documentation; versioning, terms of access; guestbooks. Person/Time: Sonia/90 min 9. Implementing RDM at Higher Educational Institutions in India: Some tips Session by Ceilyn & Sonia Please feel free to contact us for any more information or queries!
