Prof. Jaideep Sharma is a well known name in the field of LIS education and has been immensely contributing for past nearly four decades.He joined Kurukshetra University as a Lecturer in 1989 and worked till 2003.Prior to it, he worked in a college library ( Vivekananda College, DU and on a project of ILA in IGNCA). He joined as a Reader in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in 2003. He is currently Professor & Head, Faculty of Library and Information Science in IGNOU. He has been coordinating different programmes and taught in f2f mode and online mode also. He regularly teaches in the online programmes of IGNOU, through TV and Radio and is also involved in course curriculum design. Prof. Sharma hold PhD in "Professional Competencies and LIS Education" Prof. Jaideep Sharma has been associated in professional activities, associated with professional peer review journals acting as reviewer. Edited special issues of well known journals like Annals of Library and Information Studies and DESIDOC Journal of Library and Information Technology. Also Joint Editor of well known peer review journal, Library Herald. He is a Life member of prominent professional national associations like ILA, IASLIC and DLA. Have been regularly delivering lectures in Refresher Programmes in universities, research institutions, Navodayay Vidyalaya and other schools. Also involved as Convener in designing standard for Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Have been a member of Board of Studies of different universities. Have been associated in designing curricula of different universities. Have also acted as co- guide for PhD student in other universities.
